Chanukah

Click here for the blessings for Chanukah candlelighting, with Haneirot Halalu
and the first verse of Ma'oz Tzur. You can print them out and share them with
your friends and family.

But wait! There's more! Someone who should know better claimed to have
trouble fitting the Singlish words to the tune. Click here for the demo sing-along!

Of course, it's all transliterated, egalitarian and gender-sensitive.

It's our gift to you--Happy Chanukah!

Naturally, the text is not the same in every siddur, but the differences are
insignificant unless they upset you. This version of Hanerot Halalu is based on
British tradition, which I consider authentic; it's also the Authorized Version for
subjects of British royalty.

Egalitarian

We include the Matriarchs when mentioning the Patriarchs. However, the
references to the Matriarchs are in a shaded font and easy to skip for those
who so prefer.

Inclusive or Gender-Sensitive

We do not assume that God is male, and we generally avoid using masculine
pronouns to refer to God.

Transliterated

The Hebrew text is spelled phonetically in English characters, so you can
follow along even if you don't read Hebrew characters.
